One of Twitter’s most popular users is splitting up from the platform.

TV model and personality Chrissy Teigen announced on Wednesday night that she would leave the social network, issuing a heartfelt goodbye in a series of tweets that thanked her followers for 10 years of friendship, but said the platform’s environment had become extremely negative.

“Hey. For more than 10 years, you guys have been my world, I honestly owe a lot to this world we created here. I really consider many of you my real friends,” Teigen tweeted to his 13.7 million followers.

“But it’s time for me to say goodbye. This is no longer as positive as it is negative, and I think it is the right time to call something.”

Teigen’s move came amid criticism from fans for collaborating with Kris Jenner on a new line of herbal cleaning products. Some fans expressed support, while others accused her of being “deaf” and “profiting” from cleaning products marketed to the middle class, although she is a wealthy woman with a cleaning team.

Noting that her goal is to spread happiness, she also regretted not being as comfortable responding to public criticism as many might think.

“My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don’t do it is too much for me. I’ve always been portrayed as the clapping girl, but I’m just not,” she tweeted, before deleting the account and everyone. your tweets.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Teigen’s departure from the network.
