“I will always recognize a mistake when I make one, so I am here to sincerely apologize,” said Harrison, saying that “my intentions were simply to ask for grace in the offer. [Kirkconnell] an opportunity to speak on your own behalf. “
“What I now realize I did was to cause harm by speaking the wrong way in a way that perpetuates racism, and for that I deeply regret.”
Harrison also apologized to Lindsay “for not listening to her better on a subject she understood firsthand”.
In his statement, Harrison also pointed out the considerable indignation of fans in his comments, saying that he “humbly [thanks] Bachelor Nation members who came to me to hold me accountable. “
