Chris Cuomo addresses brother Andrew’s sexual harassment scandal

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on Monday addressed the growing sexual harassment scandal involving his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, telling viewers that he “obviously” would not be covering him.

“Obviously, I am aware of what is happening to my brother,” the anchor said at the top of your primetime show. “And I obviously can’t cover that, because he’s my brother.”

“Now, it is clear that CNN has to cover,” continued the presenter. “They have covered this extensively and will continue to do so.”

“I have always been very concerned with these issues, and very much about this,” added Cuomo, 50. “There is a lot of news going on that is also important, so let’s move on.”

The strange recognition came when a third woman came forward to accuse the 63-year-old governor of inappropriate sexual behavior.

In response to Chris Cuomo’s statement, several on Twitter said it made sense for the journalist to refuse to cover a family member.

However, others noted that this conflict of interest did not seem to exist when things were going well for Andrew Cuomo.

The governor made regular appearances on his younger brother’s program at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The two made jokes during the segments, including about the status of Andrew’s relationship.

CNN recently reinstated Chris’ ban on covering his brother after an exclusive Post report found that his administration covered up thousands of deaths in COVID-19 nursing homes.
