Cellular service doesn’t get much cheaper than that: $ 30 for an entire year

Many people pay dearly for telephone service due to excessive caution. You might think you need unlimited text or data “just in case,” but if you spend most of your time immersed in Wi-Fi and don’t send much text, you can survive on less – much less. For example, right now Red Pocket Mobile is offering one year of prepaid service for just $ 30. That’s right – $ 30. year. That is $ 2.50 a month.

The kit includes a SIM card and works with CDMA and GSM operators, so this should work regardless of the phone you bring to the party (as long as it is unlocked).

I’ll be honest: you won’t confuse this with an all-you-can-eat premium plan – you have 200 minutes of conversation, 1,000 text messages and just 200 megabytes of data per month. But if your needs are modest, this may be perfect for you. After all, remember that we tend to spend most of our time flooded with Wi-Fi, so data is probably the least of your worries. The big question is whether you can survive 200 minutes of conversation and 1,000 text messages (and if you mainly use chat apps to send text messages and make voice or video calls, the answer is probably “yes”) .
