A man who claimed to have witnessed a deadly shooting inside the United States Capitol on Wednesday shared his account of what happened.
Amid chaos at the United States Capitol, a pro-Trump protester was shot in the neck. Fox News later confirmed with police that the woman died of her injuries. She was later identified as Ashli Babbitt, a California Air Force veteran.
“I was there with her. It was me or her! And they shot her,” said the man to the Daily Caller journalist, Phillip Nieto, as he raised his hand that he claimed was covered in blood.

When asked by passers-by what happened, the man explained that the altercation occurred at the door of one of the chambers inside the Capitol, where there was a “broken window”.
“They shot her in the neck,” he said.
“The police or the service or whatever, they shot her with a gun to her neck, [she] it fell back into my hand and on the floor, “continued the man.” I don’t know if she’s dead. “

The images show the woman, identified as Trump’s supporter, falling to the ground and going limp after being shot in the chest. The woman was transported out of the Capitol just before 3 pm.
It was immediately clear who fired the shot, but DC police chief Robert Contee later confirmed that a Capitol police officer had done so, Washington’s FOX 5 reported.
