Candace Cameron Bure denies participating in Kirk Cameron’s singing protests

After Growing Pains actor received reaction for hosting Christmas carol events in California amid requests to stay home, the Full house alum accessed Twitter to make it clear that she was not involved.

“I didn’t participate in any recent Christmas carols”, the 44-year-old actress I wrote. “In addition, I choose to follow the more general guidelines, wearing a mask and social distance when I’m in public.”

However, Candace made it clear that she did not “appreciate the vile tweets” about her family. “I believe that respectful dialogue is the key to being heard,” she continued. “Stay safe.”

Kirk hosted the event outside The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, California, on Tuesday, December 22. KABC-TV reported that there appeared to be about 75 to 100 people present. The images showed the carolers close to each other, many of them without masks and, therefore, breaking the state’s mandate amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We do not tolerate this irresponsible – although constitutionally protected – peaceful event of planned protest,” said a statement published on the mall’s Twitter account. “We shared their concern and notified the sheriff’s office. In addition, we contacted the event planner to ask them not to use The Oaks as a location.”
