Call of Duty: War zone zombies are moving across the map

The zombies arrived in Call of Duty: Warzone last month and have now started to migrate across the Battle Royale map and have taken up residence in Verdansk Prison. As provoked in a blog post ‘inside the universe’, the zombies that arrived on the coast with the addition of a ghost ship to the north coast of Verdansk were found in the area of the nearby Prison Complex.

Similar to the ship, a terminal has been added to the Prison, which allows players to initiate a zombie killing event, offering extra items when 40 staggering undead are dispatched. The change may portend major changes to Verdansk, with some believing that they will slowly take control of several areas, before slowly added nuclear weapons are deployed, triggering a radical change in the map.

This is an idea supported by a leak that seems to point to a zombie-themed event called Plague, in which the area can be bombed. The blog post mentioned also includes a header image that says 5% – possibly pointing to how much of the map is now affected by zombies.

All of these additions can make those on older hardware nervous, especially since a 500 GB PS4 may no longer be able to suit Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Want to win a Warzone win? We have a Call of Duty: Warzone wiki for you.

Joe Skrebels is the Executive News Editor at IGN and is furious about the move, because Prison is one of the only places he feels safe during the War Zone matches. Follow him on Twitter. Do you have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story? Send an email to [email protected].
