A land storm in central and southern California will become a mid-week snowstorm in the middle of the country.
The system will bring rain and high-altitude snow to parts of California by Monday night.

From Monday to Tuesday, the storm will push snow to the plains in the southwest, center and north.

Also on Monday night, rain hits the southern plains. On Tuesday night, the vanguard of the system and snow will move to the Great Lakes region.

In addition, from Tuesday to Tuesday night, rain / freezing rain will develop in parts of the central plains and move to parts of the Middle Mississippi valley. The snow will measure 4 to 6 inches with 8 inches isolated over parts of the midwest.

The heaviest is expected when the storm passes through the Great Basin and the central Rocky Mountains. Snow totals are expected to reach between 30 and 60 centimeters by Tuesday night.
