Sarah Michelle Gellar and Michelle Trachtenberg responded to new allegations of misconduct made against Joss Whedon, creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”.

The actresses released statements on social media, distancing themselves from the director / producer / writer in trouble.

“While I’m proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be associated with the name Joss Whedon forever,” wrote Gellar, 43, via Instagram on Wednesday. “I’m more focused on raising my family and surviving a pandemic today, so I’m not going to make any more statements. Right now, I’m with all the survivors of abuse and I’m proud of them for talking.”

Trachtenberg wrote on Instagram: “Thank you @sarahmgellar for saying this. I am brave enough now, as a 35 year old woman … To go over this. Because. This must. Be known. As a teenager. With him not appropriate behavior. … a lot. No. Adequate. ”

Earlier on Wednesday, “Buffy” and “Angel” actress Charisma Carpenter spoke against Whedon, 56, and claimed he behaved unprofessionally on set.

Carpenter, 50, logged on to Twitter to share a long note detailing his negative experience with Whedon on “Buffy” and “Angel” with the hashtag “#IStandWithRayFisher” referring to the “Justice League” star who claimed in June that Whedon was on the set, the treatment given to the cast and crew members was “rude, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable”.

“For almost two decades, I held my tongue and even made excuses for certain events that have traumatized me today,” said the actress started his two-page note. “Joss Whedon has abused his power on numerous occasions while working on sets of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Although he thought his conduct was inappropriate, it only served to intensify my performance anxiety, weaken me and withdraw from mine. colleagues. The disturbing incidents triggered a chronic physical condition that I still suffer from. It is with a pounding and heavy heart that I say that I faced isolated and, sometimes, destructively. ”

The star explained that she felt empowered to tell her story after Fisher’s drama with the film and TV producer, noting that she recognized her “casually cruel” behavior pattern and fostering “toxic work environments”.

She accused the director of scolding her for a rosary tattoo that she “felt more spiritually terrified” as well as, suddenly, threatened to fire her several times and called her “fat” when she was pregnant with four months and weighed 126 pounds.

Whedon representatives did not comment when contacted by Fox News.

The star concluded his note by sympathizing with Fisher, whose efforts to report irregularities in the “Justice League” prompted WarnerMedia to conduct a third party investigation into Fisher’s allegations. Carpenter noted that she participated in that investigation.
