Buffalo Bills excludes Cole Beasley

ORCHARD PARK, NY – Buffalo Bills ruled out wide receiver Cole Beasley in his Sunday game against the Miami Dolphins, the result of a knee injury he suffered against the New England Patriots in Week 16.

Beasley, the team’s second biggest receiver, left Buffalo’s victory over New England at the end of the fourth period and did not return. Coach Sean McDermott called Beasley “week by week”. Bills is set to host its first playoff game in 25 years next weekend.

In his second year with Bills, Beasley set career records with 967 yards and 82 receptions on 107 targets. Losing him for an extended period of time would leave Buffalo without his top slot receiver, but the Bills activated the John Brown reserve / COVID-19 wide receiver on Friday.

The Houston Chronicle reported for the first time that Buffalo will hire wide receiver Kenny Stills as soon as he releases the COVID-19 protocols, but McDermott said the Bills’ interest in Stills is not related to Beasley’s injury.
