Bruce Willis spoke after being photographed in a Los Angeles pharmacy without wearing a mask.
O Hard to kill icon was seen leaving a Rite Aid store over the weekend, with reports stating that he was asked to leave after refusing to wear a mask.
He later told People, “It was an error of judgment.”
Willis added: “Everyone is safe out there and we will continue to disguise it.”
According to PageSix, customers were irritated when Willis was spotted without facial coverage and he immediately left the store without making a purchase.
Masks are mandatory in all indoor spaces under California law, while people are not required to wear them outdoors, as long as they can keep a distance of two meters from others.
It happens at a time when California continues to be devastated by the pandemic, with the number of deaths from coronavirus reaching 30,000. Los Angeles is considered one of the hardest hit places in the entire state.
Willis is believed to have been quarantined with most of his family during the pandemic, and delighted fans last year by showing off his Armageddon clothing while he was locked up at home.
The film, which also starred Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, Owen Wilson, Michael Clarke Duncan and Steve Buscemi, saw Willis playing Harry Stamper, a deep-sea oil rig that was contracted by NASA to destroy an asteroid that directed to Earth.
