Browns security, Ronnie Harrison activated IR; installation reopened for practice after 2 positive COVID-19 tests

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns received good news on Thursday amid all conflicts over COVID-19.

They activated Ronnie Harrison from the injured reserve / assigned to return with his shoulder injury, which means he will likely play against the Steelers on Sunday in his ‘win and entry’ game. He lost the last four games and the Browns lost him.

They can certainly use Harrison considering free security. Andrew Sendejo was dropped after presumably having tested positive for COVID-19, and Karl Joseph was placed on the reserve list as a close contact at high risk.

The Browns reopened their facilities at 3:30 am on Wednesday, after team center Javon Patterson and a coach tested positive for COVID-19. The coach will not be on the field for Sunday’s game, as he will be isolated for at least 10 days. They held an indoor practice at 4:30 pm, which was closed to the media because of the COVID-19 protocols.

Browns’ right guard Wyatt Teller (ankle sprain) also trained on Wednesday and has a good chance of playing on Sunday. Stefanski said he also hopes to take Jedrick Wills Jr. out of his illness, which cost him a 23 to 16 loss to the Jets on Sunday.

If all goes as expected, BJ Goodson’s five high-risk contacts (positive for COVID-19) will be back on the pitch on Thursday and available for the game. They are Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, KhaDarel Hodge and Jacob Phillips.

Harrison Bryant and Karl Joseph, also close contacts, may be back on Saturday.

Three Browns players were left out on Wednesday: linebackers Tae Davis (ankle) and Sione Takitaki (ankle) and striker Nick Harris (knee).
