Brooke Baldwin will leave CNN in April

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin has announced that she will be leaving the network after 13 years in mid-April. “The next chapter of my life will focus on what I love most about my job: expanding the lives of extraordinary Americans,” said Baldwin at the beginning of your broadcast on Tuesday afternoon. Baldwin has been on CNN since 2008, first in Atlanta and then in New York since 2014, as the afternoon anchor for CNN Newsroom. “You have been with me every step of the way – never more than when I was incredibly sick with COVID,” said Baldwin, thanking the audience for their support last year. “I am very grateful for your loyalty and passion for the world we cover.”

Baldwin will release a book in April entitled Huddle: how women release their collective power, and explained in his ad: “You know, there is just more I need to do – more than I need to do outside this place, outside the walls of this place, a place that I have been privileged to call home now for 13 years. Baldwin signed his ad invoking none other than Brene Brown. “’Vulnerability is the cradle of innovation, creativity and change,’” said Baldwin. “And I’m really excited about what’s to come.” The news of Baldwin’s departure follows a series of changes on CNN, including Abby Phillip’s new program, as well as a reported restructuring of his daytime schedule.
