Brett Favre recently offered some strong words about Deshaun Watson’s current situation with the Texans. Watson’s agent, David Mulugheta, will not accept.

On Thursday night, Mulugheta responded to Favre’s recent criticism of Watson’s request to negotiate outside Houston. Watson was not happy with the Texans excluding him from the main personnel decisions this off-season, after telling him that he would be involved in those hires.

“You get a ton of money to do a certain job, and just do it, and let the chips fall where they can,” Favre told Yahoo Sports. “I think we made a lot of money to express an opinion, but I am not saying that he is wrong. Again, I think it is a different day and time, and it will be interesting to see how the organization will handle this.”

“Brett should probably stop throwing stones from that glass house he’s sitting in,” Mulugheta wrote via Twitter.

Mulugheta is alluding to Favre’s reported exchange requests during the end of his run with the Packers. Favre’s first reported exchange order came shortly after the 2007 draft. Favre would have been upset that the team was unwilling to negotiate a fifth round choice to acquire Randy Moss, which Favre recruited during the off-season. Moss ended up being traded to the Patriots, where he achieved an NFL record of 23 touchdowns in 2007 while helping the Patriots advance to Super Bowl XLII. The Packers arrived at the NFC title game before an overtime interception by Favre set the winning field goal for the Giants game.

Shortly after retiring during the next off-season, Favre informed the Packers’ bosses that he wanted to resume his career. After being informed that the organization was committed to moving forward with Aaron Rodgers at the center, Favre asked for his release. While he ended up being traded to the Jets, Favre retired again the following off-season, then signed with the Vikings to play against his former team. Favre did 2 to 2 against the Packers before retiring permanently after the 2010 season.

While Favre’s story was written, Watson’s future is very much in the air. The Houston Chronicle reported that the team will want at least two choices in the first round, two choices in the second round and two young defensive beginners in exchange for Watson, the NFL pass leader. The report came shortly after Lions signed an agreement with the Rams that sent Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles in exchange for Jared Goff, two future choices in the first round and one choice in 2021 in the third round.
