Bre Collins at Lakeside signs with SC State

EVANS Ga. (WRDW / WAGT) – Breyanna Collins, the Lakeside veteran, had a busy last year. In the past few months, Collins has balanced his senior year at Lakeside, a double enrollment at Augusta University, an internship, volunteering in Jerrod Williams’ campaign for public prosecutor, his high school softball season, club softball engagements and a handful of more .

All of that hard work was worth it. Collins had already won a Heisman scholarship for some of his other contributions to the community in November and is now going to play softball in the state of South Carolina. Collins signed her letter of intent, surrounded by family, club coaches and teammates. Collins says he has no plans to make his busy schedule any easier, now that he knows where he’s going.

“It definitely is. I mean, I still have to work hard, but it is a relief to know that I have somewhere to go to continue playing softball, ”said Collins.

She will continue to play for CSRA Yarddogs and will honor many other commitments. Collins is the first Yarddogs player to win a DI scholarship. She plans to study biology at SC State and hopes to become an OBG / YN nurse and assist in childbirth.
