Bose officially launches its Sport Open wireless headphones

After they leaked last month on the FCC, Bose officially unveiled its Sport Open wireless headphones. As the name suggests, they are more open than in-ear, held in place by a hook that goes around the ear. At the same time, they are designed for sports with an IPX4 water resistance rating, relatively light 14 grams per button weight and eight hours of battery life.

The audio box is above and not over, inside or over the ear canal. As such, they obviously have no active noise cancellation (ANC). Instead, by design, they allow you to hear “traffic, a training partner, nature or any other [you] I don’t want to lose, ”wrote the company in a press release. They also come with a microphone designed to give clarity and isolate your voice from wind and noise, and Bose promises that they “will be precisely positioned while resisting sweat, heat, rain and snow”.
