Boeing (BA) – Get report agreed to pay $ 6.6 million in fines to resolve three issues with the Federal Aviation Administration on Thursday.
The Chicago aerospace giant was valued at $ 5.4 million for what the agency said was breaching its obligations under a 2015 agreement.
Under this 2015 agreement, Boeing had said it would change its internal processes to improve and prioritize regulatory compliance.
Boeing “missed some of its improvement goals” and “some of the company’s managers did not sufficiently prioritize compliance with FAA regulations,” the agency said in a statement.
The company had previously paid $ 12 million in civil penalties as an initial condition of the 2015 agreement.
To resolve two other law enforcement cases with the agency, Boeing will pay $ 1.2 million.
The FAA, which is part of the Department of Transportation, had originally proposed both penalties in August. The agency claimed at the time that Boeing managers unduly pressured or interfered with the work of the FAA-designated team at the company’s South Carolina plant.
On the last check, Boeing shares were trading at 0.3% to $ 215.80. They closed Thursday’s regular trading session down 5.6% to $ 216.45.
