BLM co-founder Opal Tometi calls for a Royal Family Boycott after Meghan’s bombshell about Archie’s skin color concerns

The American co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement is calling for a boycott of the Royal Family after Meghan Markle’s bombastic statements in his interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Opal Tometi, 36, told TMZ that he believed people should stop staying near the Palace after the Duchess of Sussex claimed that a family member raised “concerns” about Archie’s possible skin color when she was pregnant.

Meghan told Oprah that there were ‘concerns and conversations about how dark his skin could be when he was born’.

She added: ‘This was relayed to me by Harry. These were the conversations the family had with him. ‘

The couple declined to name the person who allegedly made the comments, but Prince Harry told Oprah out of breath that they were not made by the queen or Prince Philip.

Tometi, a prominent activist, said the charges should make people turn their backs on the Royal Family, according to TMZ.

She said that black women like Meghan should be believed when they speak.

Tometi is known as one of the founders of the Black Lives Matter movement. This group was at the center of protests last summer, calling for racial justice in policing and other issues. While some of the protests were destructive and violent, many were peaceful.

“Opal Tometi is one of the most influential human rights leaders of our time,” says his website. “Opal represents a level of courage and leadership that most of us only read in black history books,” he proclaims.

She is listed in a recent biography as living in New York and being the daughter of Nigerian immigrants in the United States. Tometi grew up in the Phoenix area.

Meanwhile, insiders reacted in horror to Meghan’s allegations, saying it was deeply unfair to launch such a damaging charge, potentially slandering several royals who are unable to defend themselves.

It was also pointed out that there was no context for the alleged comment, which could clarify why it was said.

And there seemed to be a contradiction about when it was said, with Meghan saying it was while she was pregnant, while Harry said it had happened before their wedding.

Winfrey said she was ‘shocked’ by the supposed comment about Archie’s skin tone, but although she tried to ask Harry for more information, both on and off camera, he refused to divest further.

However, he told her that he wanted to make it clear that the person in question ‘was not his grandmother or grandfather’.

Meghan said in the interview: ‘In those months when I was pregnant, at about the same time, then we have a side conversation of, “you will not be safe, you will not receive a title” and also concerns and conversations about how your skin can become dark when he is born. ‘

She discussed how the Royal Family allegedly removed Archie from his title as Prince before he was born, and said that she felt since the beginning of her pregnancy that the rules were being unfairly and inexplicably changed for him.

Oprah was shocked and asked her if the unidentified person was concerned that he was ‘too dark’.

Meghan replied: ‘If that is the assumption you are making, it is quite safe.’
