Bill Allen’s Josh Allen is more talented than Trevor Lawrence, says Greg Cosell

Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence is seen as the NFL’s 2021 Draft award.

It’s easy to see why based on your college career. In three seasons with Clemson, Lawrence completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 9,698 yards, 88 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. Lawrence took the Tigers to college football playoffs in all three seasons as the team’s starting QB.

At one point, it looked like Lawrence could be joining AFC East with the New York Jets, but two wins at the end of the season helped Jacksonville Jaguars secure their No. 1 pick and – most likely – Clemson QB. Jacksonville could be recruiting his savior as a defender, but despite being seen as a generational talent, ESPN Matchup analyst Greg Cosell believes that Buffalo Bills has a QB that is more talented than Lawrence.

“Josh Allen is more talented than Trevor Lawrence,” Cosell told Chris Brown and Steve Tasker in One Bills Live. “And Trevor Lawrence is a generational talent, so I don’t know what that makes Josh Allen, but he has more talent than Trevor Lawrence. You’re dealing with a guy with the greatest talent and when you see him playing now with the precision that was definitely an issue when he left as you know, but the accuracy with which he’s playing and his much better understanding now of what types of pitches are necessary. “

Cosell cited specific shots that Allen made this year regarding his accuracy.

“You know, when he threw that tight ball to Dawson Knox last week (vs. New England) right on the roof, it wouldn’t have been a launch he would have made – I’m sure you would have agreed – his debut year or even the first 10 games last year, ”said Cosell. “That shot against the Niners to Gabriel Davis, where he played over Fred Warner. He never would have made that move a year ago. So now you are dealing with a guy who is much better at the details and nuances of the position, instead of being a pitcher, he is becoming a passer, so you are dealing with a high level talent. “

Lawrence may be the next big move in the quarterback, but it looks like Buffalo could have that and more in Allen.
