“A week ago, I wouldn’t call it a crisis. Today it meets the definition. We are overwhelmed. We do not have the resources to stop the cartels from bringing in illegal aliens, from bringing drugs, so we are indeed in a crisis, “Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News.

“The president understands that it is a crisis and that is why he said to the migrants ‘don’t come’,” the official told Fox News.
Meanwhile, President Biden said on Tuesday that he has no plans to travel to the southern border “at the moment” amid an increase in the number of migrants and crowded facilities.

Republicans blamed Biden for the increase after he lifted a series of Trump-era immigration restrictions that he considered inhumane, including the end of the “Stay in Mexico” policy and the reinstatement of “fish and release”. Biden’s immigration agenda includes a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday described the situation on the border as “difficult” but, like the White House, refrained from calling it a crisis.

“The situation on the southwestern border is difficult,” said Mayorkas. “We are working 24 hours a day to manage it and will continue to do so. This is our job. We are progressing and executing our plan. It will take time and we will not waver in our commitment to succeed. “
