Best Buy’s big new refueling PS5 drops better than expected

Purchasing a PlayStation 5 has been a miserable quest for many people around the world in the past few months, but it looks like it’s finally starting to get a little easier to steal Sony’s next-generation console. If today’s latest refueling at Best Buy is an indication, the next few weeks and months can bring more smiles than sadness.

Best Buy launched a bunch of new PS5 units for sale today, and based on some of the responses from customers on social media, the process went much better than ever. Although not everyone was able to control the PS5 for themselves today, the number of success stories seems to be much higher than normal.

Part of the reason this may be the case is because Best Buy launched several waves of PS5 consoles today. Even though the first wave went live earlier this morning, the units continued to appear in stock again during the afternoon throughout the day. Those who remained consistent in their attempts to get the system were apparently rewarded, as long as they persisted long enough.

Another reason things seemed to be so much more successful today is because Best Buy started limiting orders to certain regions and stores. Obviously, this meant that some potential customers would not be able to obtain a PS5 if their local store had no stock, but as a whole, the retail chain appears to be consolidating the supply in the store a little more. Soon, perhaps that means that we will start to see the PlayStation 5 appearing on the shelves.

Have you managed to buy a PS5 for yourself? And did you try to get the console at Best Buy today? Be sure to let me know in the comments or on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.

Keep reading if you want to see the reactions of those who also chased the PS5 today!

It took forever, but it worked
