Bella Thorne defends Armie Hammer over ‘false’ allegations: ‘Leave him and his family alone’

Hammer was involved in a social media scandal last week after alleged direct messages emerged alluding to the actor’s misconduct. Some of the actor’s messages, which seemed seductive, implied that he practiced BDSM and had a cannibal fetish.

Although few celebrities spoke about the rumors, actor Thorne defended Hammer on Instagram on Thursday (January 14).

“Honestly, I can’t believe it … people are crazy to pretend that kind of shit about this poor guy and his kids, who leave him and his family alone [sic]”, Wrote the 23-year-old.

“No way is he a CANNIBAL …”

Thorne also hinted that the messages that were circulating were “fake”, adding: “There are also a million fake screenshots out there.”

On Wednesday (January 13), Hammer shared a statement when it was revealed that his role alongside Jennifer Lopez in Forced marriage would be overhauled.

“I am not responding to these bull claims ***, but in light of the wicked and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot, in good conscience, leave my children for four months to make a film in the Dominican Republic,” Hammer said in an announcement.

“Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I am grateful to them for that.”

Other future Hammer film projects include The billion dollar spy, as well as a planned sequence for Call me by your name.
