Bean’s father John Roderick deleted his Twitter account on Sunday after an attack of brutal criticism about forcing his 9-year-old daughter to struggle for six hours to open a can of beans and the resurgence of old anti-Semitic tweets and homophobic.
“We went out for an interview and we all found out that the 9-year-old’s father is also racist and anti-Semitic. Busy Sunday! ”Journalist Soledad O’Brien, tweeted.
What she is referring to is a series of old Roderick posts that resurfaced on Sunday when he jokes about rape, Jewish lawyers, ruin everyone’s fun “and says that” the founders intended the US to be a white homeland “

Like the quick, damning response Roderick received after posting a 23-tweet narration forcing his hungry 9-year-old daughter to figure out how to use a manual can opener to open a can of beans for six hours, reaction to new – er, old – tweets came back to haunt you.
“Father Bean being canceled for being an idiot with his daughter and people finding out that he is basically a Nazi is like when they caught Capone for tax evasion,” wrote a Twitter user.

Okay, I just received some of Bean Dad’s biggest hits and I’m thinking, parents apart – maybe he’s not such a good guy? Just throwing it out there. pic.twitter.com/umvvBqvWoc

It is funny. I don’t know the whole story. It has something to do with a father conforming to what constitutes a bean. BUT. There is also racism, misogyny, anti-Semitism and Ken Jennings defending a guy who practices these things.

In a 23-post topic, Roderick on Saturday described in detail a scenario in which he discovered that his daughter did not know how to use a manual can opener and challenged her to find out on her own. This, he said, went on for “intermittent SIX HOURS”, with her finally breaking down in tears – while he worked on a puzzle.
The phrases #BeanDad along with “she is 9” and “SIX HOURS” all trending on Sunday, with people making fun of him and criticizing him, with some calling him everything from “a hole” to “abusive”
“Danger!” Champion Ken Jennings, meanwhile, defended Roderick, who co-hosts with him the “Omnibus” podcast, which twice a week compiles an encyclopedia guide to strange but true stories for a time capsule.
“If that reassures anyone, I personally know that John is (a) a loving and caring father who (b) tells intense stories to effect his own irascibility at about ten podcasts a week. This site is so stupid, ”tweeted Jennings.
