A new trailer for Back 4 Blood recently debuted during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase.
This extended look on Back 4 Blood , the new cooperative zombie shooter from the creators of Left 4 Dead, includes a deep dive into how his new director system will keep you alert whenever you play.
You should remember that Left 4 Dead games also had a steering system, which dynamically changed when and where enemies appeared to keep the same set of levels looking like new. It has a similar role in Back 4 Blood, but in addition, it will also apply larger modifiers to each map. The game will reveal these modifiers at the beginning of a map, meaning that you will have a chance to choose your strategy and charge to combat the director’s machinations, as explained by Turtle Rock Studios executive producer Lianne Papp.
“You are going to start in a safe room with three of your friends, and the game director is going to play what we call Corruption Cards,” says Papp. “You learn what kind of challenges he is going to launch at you and your team by looking at what these cards are. They can be things like Bruisers Swarm or Ridden on Fire.
“So, after seeing these cards, you will receive a hand from a deck you have built. And you need to decide which cards you are going to play with. Coordination with your team will be very important here, as you can do things like improve the quality of items and weapons that are found in the world, you can make your team carry more molotovs or medical kits, or you can even do something cool like, your team gets a health explosion when you are disabled. see what you and your friends do with your cards. “
Back 4 Blood is aimed at PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Both PC and console players will have a chance to try it out in the next open beta – Papp says more information will come soon.
