‘Bachelorette’s’ Dale Moss opens on Clare Crawley’s split: ‘There’s no one to blame’

Dale Moss is talking about his breakup with Clare Crawley.

The ex-Bachelorette couple made headlines in November, when it was revealed that Crawley would leave the show just a few weeks later – as she felt she had already met her winner in Moss, who had originally proposed to her.

Now, the former NFL wide receiver is going to social media to shed some light on his split with Crawley, 39, after a brief hiatus on social media.

In a series of Instagram stories on Monday, Moss, 32, noted that he finally felt “comfortable” talking about the situation after the breakup.

“I finally feel comfortable coming in here after having some time to process everything that is going on,” Moss prefaced the opening story. “I know that many of you have seen me smiling on social media and say that I don’t look so hurt or overwhelmed by it, but that is the furthest away. This time it sucked.”

“Thank God I have the friends and family I had, because they literally had to carry me in the past two weeks,” continued Moss.

Moss confessed that the pressures of having a public relationship influenced the separation of the couple.

“Building a relationship in general is difficult, especially when you’re doing it in the public eye,” noted Moss. “The media will take things and run with them. People spread lies or always want to point the finger. But the fact is, there is no one to blame in this situation.”

“Like any relationship, we had our ups and downs and went through our own thing. But the statements that came out, that didn’t come out of the blue,” he continued, apparently referring to Crawley’s recent statement that she “was aware of a statement ‘mutual’ at the same time “the public saw Moss’s initial announcement about the split last week.

“I love Clare and I respect her enough that she knows how I feel, even if it goes against everyone else’s expectations,” he added.

Although Moss has struggled with a brave face throughout his stories, he mentioned that it would take him a long time to move on and have a little bit of normality back in his life.

“It will take time. I wanted nothing more than to make this relationship work,” said Moss. “[…] Although this is difficult, what you will see in me is to try to practice what I preach and continue to put my best foot forward each day. In trying to find some sense of normalcy, I will also try to find joy and happiness each day and continue to share that.

The reality star then reflected on the year 2020, calling it “a yearlong hell.”

She said that in 2020, she faced “severe anxiety”, the coronavirus pandemic, “balancing a new public relationship” and “slowly losing my mother” – circumstances that left her “eager for light at the end of the tunnel”.
