James Cameron’s epic film is being re-released in China this weekend, where it grossed more than $ 8 million just on Saturday afternoon.

James Cameron’s epic hit in 2009 Avatar went through the 2019 Marvel superhero extravaganza Avengers: Endgame to rule once again as the highest grossing film of all time, unadjusted by inflation.

The good news for Disney, which owns Marvel Studios – is now also home to Avatar as a result of the merger with 20th Century Fox.
Cameron’s film was among a short list of historically popular hit titles that the Chinese Film Bureau requested for re-release in March, when China’s cinemas were attempting a staged reopening as the country began to control the local spread of the coronavirus novel.
