Australian star Nick Kyrgios was as hot as ever during the first round match against Frederico Ferreira Silva at the Australian Open.
In terms of pure tennis, he did everything he needed to keep Ferreira Silva in direct sets, 6-4 6-4 6-4, quite directly.

But, between points, Kyrgios let his camp escape while fighting his brave opponent in Melbourne.
The 25-year-old showed his frustrations in his home crowd early in the game, asking for the removal of a member of his entourage.
At one point, the Canberra player, whose best result at Melbourne Park came when he reached the quarterfinals in 2015, shouted:

At the start of the game, he rebuked the members of his box again for apparently not giving him enough support.
“Are you awake, or … are you awake? Are you awake?” he shouted at his box.
“Don’t look if you’re just going to sit there. I said one thing for two games. Unbelievable.”

Kyrgios has been in the headlines a lot in the weeks before the first Grand Slam of the new season.
World number one Novak Djokovic said last week that he respects Nick Kyrgios’ skills on the court, but thinks the less he talks about his longtime rival’s attitude, the better.
Kyrgios has consistently spoken out against Djokovic since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Australian will face France’s 29th seed Ugo Humbert in the second round.
