But he was discovered on Sunday after police suspended efforts to rescue him.

Mr. Weber spent three days in his car before running out of water.
He left on foot, but got lost and stayed near a dam where police said he survived by drinking water from the dam and eating mushrooms.
But he was found near a dam by local lawmaker Tony Perrett and his wife Michelle, according to local media.
Mr Perrett told ABC: ‘We had passed this dam on several occasions during the past week and when we saw it there it was just extraordinary.
“Just this morning, it was fortunate that he was there and we were able to locate him.”
Mr. Perrett decided to continue looking for the local man, even though the police canceled the search.
They found him about two miles from where workers discovered his car last week, on January 17.
“He said he was trying to get to Caboolture and he was disoriented … he was lost and didn’t know where he was,” explained the deputy.
Mr. Weber revealed that he survived on wild mushrooms and water from the dam after depleting his own supplies.

During his search for shelter, Mr. Weber was disoriented in the 30 ° C heat and separated from his dog – which is still missing.
“He stayed in his car with his dog for three days before he ran out of water,” police said in a statement.
‘He left on foot and got lost and stayed in a dam where he survived sleeping on the ground, drinking water from the dam and eating mushrooms.
‘Mr Weber was taken to the hospital suffering exposure to the elements, but on the other hand he was safe and well.’
A few days before the discovery, the police suspended the air and land search for the missing person.
“After a week of searching in dense native forest, rivers, dams and steep terrain during rainy conditions … the decision was made to stop the search for Nerangba’s man, who was not seen at that time,” police said. Queensland on Thursday.
‘A search in the immediate surroundings led by the police with the help of State Emergency Services and air personnel completed yesterday (Wednesday) in the afternoon.’
