A garbage man in England was fired after being caught on camera practicing kung fu on a family’s sidewalk snowman.
The footage shows the garbage worker in orange uniform giving half a dozen kicks – including some round houses worthy of Bruce Lee – to the 6-foot snowman, beheading the building and finally reducing it to half its previous stature .
The snowman was built by children from the neighborhood in Hereford – a cathedral town near the border with Wales – after a recent blizzard, housewife Sophie Taylor, 25, told Herefordtimes.com.
Taylor said his 3-year-old son Joseph always waves garbage trucks out the window every week.
And then “he goes and does it in the face,” complained the worker, who was fired from the company.
Joseph saw the destruction through the window and was brought to tears, his mother told Mirror.
“On Tuesday, he came running up to me crying, ‘The binman broke my snowman’ and started kicking.”
Meanwhile, the so-called binman told the Mirror that he will build the boy another snowman, if the family wants to, but that he “does not regret”.
“I don’t think I have to say that I’m sorry. Your family knew they wouldn’t be there forever, ”Callum Woodhouse, 19, told the outlet.
In addition, the snowman deserved it, said Woodhouse, claiming that “it was blocking my path”.
“I decided to kick it because I didn’t think it would hurt anyone’s feelings. I don’t think snowmen have feelings, ”said Woodhouse, who told Mirror that he is a pregnant father.
“It would melt and snow again. I didn’t think it would have such an impact on a 3 year old child. “
The video of the snowman’s unprovoked attack went viral in the UK, sparking intense online arguments over whether the “refusal operative” should have been “fired” for destroying the snowman “during service”.
“It obviously showed its character,” complained @ BarbsK5. “Would you hire him?”
“Yes, all day,” replied @ BaldEagle877. “He kicked water.”
“Seriously stupid, but this[‘s] very difficult to lose your job, especially in these times, ” contradicted @pvarrasso.
