Anyone aged 18 or over who appeared on the FEMA website in Florida City who received a photo of COVID-19, even if ineligible

FLORIDA CITY, Florida. – On Saturday, anyone who appeared 18 years or older with a medical certificate or not, who met or did not meet the eligibility requirements could obtain a COVID-19 photo on a FEMA website in Florida.

It is unclear why workers administered vaccines in the arms of anyone aged 18 or over, but there may have been little demand at the site in the past week. However, Governor Ron DeSantis’ order dictates that recipients in this age group must be in a high-risk category and arrive with a medical certificate or an eligibility form signed by a doctor.

The news spread quickly on social media about the photos for everyone in the city of Florida, generating queues of people on Sunday who waited for a chance at the Youth Activity Center.

Saima Haque said a tweet led her to drive about 100 miles from Boynton Beach in hopes of getting the photo.

“I saw a tweet on Twitter about people over 18. They were distributing it yesterday and they were going to do it today too. My father at home is sick, so we are just trying to catch him, ”said Haque. “If it doesn’t work, we can’t do anything else,” she said.

Did not work. In fact, operators of the FEMA website returned to the governor’s order as soon as the website reopened on Sunday morning.

Florida city police were on hand to control the crowd and help get the message out. Many people who did not meet the requirements were rejected.

The comings and goings on the Florida city website prompted the mayor of Miami-Dade to send a tweet addressed to the governor, urging him to expand the eligibility requirements.

“Our top priority must be to get vaccines as quickly as possible and to ensure that no vaccine supplies available are left unused. I urge the governor to expand the eligibility requirements to meet the high demand in our community and across the state. “
