ANTM winner Lisa D’Amato calls presenter Tyra Banks for exploiting her “childhood trauma” for profit

Lisa D’Amato set Tyra Banks on fire for exploiting her ‘childhood traumas’ to profit from reality shows.

America’s next Top Model: the All Star winner went to Instagram on Friday, calling the supermodel presenter in a video confessional set in the 2009 Lily Allen hit F *** You.

She revealed that she risked a breach of contract by appearing in an episode of E! True Hollywood Story, where she discussed the alleged mistreatment she faced on the show.

The 40-year-old woman gasped when she explained: ‘I did it knowing it was a breach of contract, yet, because I felt it was my duty to let other girls know that they were going to audition for America’s next Top Model to know what you guys do .

– And the way you nudged me and used my childhood trauma against me, day after day. It was so f *** it broke my heart. Like, how could you do that?

She continued: ‘I don’t know how you sleep at night. You, Tyra, knew very well the horrible trauma that my mother inflicted on me.

‘And you also talk a lot about how you wouldn’t be where you are without your mother and how powerful she is [in your life]. So, knowing that, you still did it to me and continued to do it with other girls, even after I spoke publicly about it. ‘

In addition to yelling at Banks, 47, she targeted the show’s co-creator: ‘You know, I never knew if you were innocent or guilty. I always just took down Ken Mok. ‘

D’Amato, who first appeared in cycle five, also included footage from ANTM competitors Jeana Turner (cycle 24) and Angelea Preston (cycles 12, 14 and 17) detailing her own traumatic experiences in the program.

Later, she addressed actress Coyote Ugly in another Instagram statement: ‘I told you I wasn’t specifically after you months ago. But then I found out more information, so now it’s you directly. I am still better than you thought because I told you so. Get out, get out wherever you are? …

‘I’m so f *** ing done. So many girls are so fucked up and without a voice. I had to do this and defend all of us. ‘

The native Angeleno asked other former students of ANTM to introduce themselves: ‘More girls / boys from #ANTM dm me. Take the train. No f *** ing liars tho. Come to me with lies and I will expose you too. Just tellers of the truth. Now is the time. No reformulations. I worked hard for it. ‘

She also gave Banks a chance to speak up: ‘So crazy … I found out some new quarantined information about other girls and I was like … ohhh hell NO! Made with this bull bullshit.

Banks has faced adverse reactions over the years from previous contestants and fans, most recently last May, when a clip resurfaced from her saying that cycle six winner Dani Evans she would never be a covergirl with the gap in her two front teeth.

She addressed the moment when Twitter: ‘I have seen the posts about the insensitivity of some past moments of ANTM and I agree with you. Looking back, these were some really wrong choices. I appreciate your honest feedback and am sending you lots of love and virtual hugs. ‘

Former ANTM creative director Jay Manuel targeted Banks and the show in his satirical novel The Wig, The B **** & The Meltdown, which was released in August.

He previously told Variety: ‘I really think it’s a little unfair for people to pursue Tyra now, especially since she has been criticized for her previous executive decisions in recent years. However, I really can’t defend it because when the ratings were high and things were great, she remained a figurehead, because it was her show.

‘Consistently, when the shit hit the fan and people wanted to talk about some of the things that were said on the show, we would have another unique EP performing to claim that all creative decisions were made as a team, and I really wish that was the one case, but this is simply not true. ‘
