Angelina Jolie shares a rare photo with children Zahara, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12, for Vogue

Angelia Jolie revealed that she is focused on ‘healing our family’ after her bitter divorce from Brad Pitt.

A new photo released by British Vogue for the March cover shows Angelina at her $ 25 million (£ 18.2 million) home in Los Angeles with three of her six children – Zahara, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12 .

In the following interview, the Oscar-winning actress, 45, reflects on what she describes as “some very difficult years” after her separation from the father of her children, Brad, 57, in 2016.

The screen and humanitarian star told how ‘the ice [is] melting and blood returning to my body ‘while she works to heal her family from the tumultuous time.

The new black and white photo shows Angelina, dressed in a white sleeveless top, sitting at the table while her children enjoy a delicious meal.

The photo was taken when British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful spoke to the actress at her Los Angeles home to talk about her family and work.

The following interview shows Angelina reflecting on her life since the end of her 12-year relationship with Brad.

The humanitarian has been single since separating from fellow dramatic actor Brad in September 2016, after two years of marriage.

The ex-couple is said to be “in a better place” after a battle over finances and custody of the children.

Confessing that she ‘doesn’t know’ if she is happy at the moment, Angelina insisted to Vogue that she has a positive vision for the future.

The Girl, Interrupted star shared: ‘The past few years have been very difficult. I have been focusing on healing our family. It’s coming back slowly, like the melting ice and the blood coming back into my body.

‘I’m looking forward to my fifties – I feel like I’m going to beat my step in my fifties. Although we were on the trampoline the other day, and the children said, ” No, Mom, don’t do that. You will get hurt. ”“ And I thought, ” God, isn’t that funny? ‘

‘There was a day when I was an action star and now the kids are telling me to get off the trampoline because I’m going to get hurt.’

Angelina insists that she does not see herself as ‘a traditional mother who stays at home’ as she was, ‘she was never very good at standing still’, but she credits her six children for ‘helping’ her maternity journey.

About balancing his career with taking care of his children, the Tomb Raider icon told the publication: ‘Well, I was never very good at standing still.

‘Even though I wanted to have a lot of kids and be a mom, I always imagined it as Jane Goodall, traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere. I didn’t imagine it in that real, traditional sense.

‘I feel like I don’t have all the skills to be a traditional mom who stays at home. I am overcoming this because the children are very resistant and are helping me, but I am not good at it. ‘

Angelina asked to absolve her marriage to Brad in 2016, saying in a June 2020 interview with Vogue India that it was for ‘the welfare of my family’, adding ‘it was the right decision’.

It was reported at the time that Pitt had entered into a violent screaming dispute driven by alcohol with Jolie, leading his eldest son Maddox, 19, to defend his mother.

Jolie received temporary custody of all six children and Brad was given visitation rights by a court-appointed therapist.

In 2018, a court ruled in favor of Brad after he alleged that Angelina was preventing children from having a consistent relationship with him. He received temporary summer custody that allowed him to stay with the children without Jolie.

She then claimed that summer that he had not been paying ‘significant’ alimony for over a year, with Pitt responding that he had lent Angelina $ 8 million and given an additional $ 1.8 million to help with the bills.

The custody trial was due to begin in November 2018, but the two reached an agreement, with ET reporting that it was in the children’s best interests and eliminated the need for a trial.

Pitt received less than 50% of the children’s custody, despite wanting equal joint custody, which led him to continue fighting for what he thought was appropriate in another trial.

The pair was considered ‘legally single’ in April 2020, but the status did not end the divorce or custody battle.

Brad continues to seek joint custody with a trial that was scheduled for October, while compiling a list of more than 20 witnesses to strengthen his case.

The couple had already decided that Maddox was not a custody consideration and could decide when he wanted to see Brad, since he was no longer a minor.

Many details of the trial were kept confidential, although a decision was expected at his next trial, scheduled for December 21.

In his last interview with Vogue, the Unbroken star also mentioned his role as special envoy for the UN Refugee Agency.

Angelina shared: ‘I started in my early twenties, putting on my boots and backpack and going out to try to find out what the hell was going on in the world.

‘I tried to give myself a broader education than at school. I grew up in a very empty place, in many ways, so I had to go to find a broader understanding. ‘

The activist began to admit that she believes that the perception of refugees has’ worsened ‘over time, explaining:’ We speak as if the refugees were a burden. But they had to adapt. They have a different skill set, a different look in their eyes.

‘They confronted their own humanity in such a profound way. They resisted oppression. We must honor your fight. Honor people who have fled bombs and protected their children. ‘

Emphasizing the importance of teaching children global citizenship, she added: “They come from all over the world. When I see Mad in Cambodia, it’s his home.

‘He is a Cambodian man and, at the same time, he is also an American citizen and a global citizen. But it’s not just important for him to go there, it’s important for his brothers to go too.
