The Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorce saga took a new turn. According to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly, Jolie claims to have “evidence and authority to support” her allegations of domestic violence against her ex-husband. And she is ready to provide that evidence during the forthcoming divorce trial.

The lawsuit, which was filed on March 12, states that Jolie is willing to testify about the alleged abuse along with the testimony provided by her and Pitt’s six children: Maddox, 19; Pax, 17; Zahara, 16; Shiloh, 14; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12. The documents do not detail the alleged violence, but a source close to Pitt said the allegations were yet another attempt to “hurt” the Oscar-winning actor.

“Over the past four and a half years, there have been a series of statements made by Angelina that have been revised and not substantiated,” said the source We. “Children have been used by Angelina to hurt Brad before and this is more of that kind of behavior. This leaking of documents by his fourth or fifth group of lawyers hurt Brad. “

Jolie and Pitt started dating shortly after filming 2004 Mr. AND MRS. SMITH. They married in 2014 and separated two years later due to “irreconcilable differences”. Their divorce has yet to be finalized, as they are in a complicated custody battle, which also includes allegations of child abuse.

Shortly after their separation in 2016, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Services for Children and Families began investigating allegations of child abuse against Pitt. The agencies closed the investigation several months later, releasing Pitt from the abuse charges.

Pitt spoke about the investigation during his 2017 GQ cover story.

“I was actually lying on my back and chained to a system when Child Care was called. And you know, after that, we were able to work together to resolve this, ”he said. “We are both doing our best. I heard a lawyer say, ‘Nobody wins in court – it’s just a question of who gets hurt the most’. And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you are right and why they are wrong, and it is just an investment in scathing hatred. I just refuse. And luckily my partner agrees with that. It is very, very shocking for children to suddenly have their family torn apart. “

Pitt is reportedly seeking 50/50 custody of his minor children.
