Andy Garcia to star in Latinx’s ‘Father Of The Bride’ photo for Warner Bros – Deadline

Andy Garcia was chosen to star in Warner Bros. and the restart of Plan B of Father of the bride. Gaz Alazraki was scheduled to lead the new studio reboot, which will revolve around a Latinx family, with Matt Lopez writing the script.

The film will tell the story of a father who faces his daughter’s marriage through the prism of various relationships within a large Cuban-American family. It will be more of a rom-com than previous versions of the film. Although this marks the third iteration in history, sources say it will be more in the vein of Spencer Tracy’s original photo and not in the Steve Martin franchise of the 1990s.

“I’m very excited to enter The Father of the Bride, a beloved film that has brought so much joy to so many people over the years and for representing my Cuban culture and heritage in this story, ”said Garcia. “I commend Warner Bros. for your vision and I commemorate this opportunity that you have created. I look forward to my collaboration with our talented director Gaz Alazraki and producers Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner at Plan B. “

Dede Garner and Jeremy Kleiner will be the producers of Plan B Entertainment. Garcia will be the executive producer.

The veteran actor best known for roles in Ocean Eleven franchise and The Godfather Part III, Garcia can be seen next with Katey Sagal in the long-awaited ABC drama Rebel.

He is represented by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment.
