In her performance as a star at Sunday’s season premiere, “American Idol”, social media phenomenon Claudia Conway declares that she is officially out of the shadow of her famous – and famous rivals – parents.
The 16-year-old daughter of Donald Trump’s adviser, Kellyanne Conway, and conservative but anti-Trump lawyer George Conway details his education for the program’s judges in a newly released sneaky video obtained by People magazine.
“I’m Claudia Conway,” she told jurors Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
“My mom is Kellyanne Conway. She worked for Donald Trump. And my dad is George Conway. He worked against Donald Trump.
“It’s a lot, but I agree to disagree with my mom and dad,” she says in the video.
“You probably know me as a 15-year-old emancipation girl or that blonde from Fox News’s daughter,” Claudia says in a home video. “I am a little more than that.”
She adds: “When your mother works for the President of the United States, with whom you strongly disagree, it is difficult.”
She adds: “For most of my life, my feelings have been suppressed. So I picked up social media and thought, ‘Well, yes. Now my voice is being heard. “
Claudia concludes: “The Internet can be a very, very dark place, but when life is going badly, I have my music. Now, I want to get out of the controversy, get out of the drama and let people know that I’m a singer and that’s what I want to do ”.
In November, Claudia hinted that she would audition for the reality show.
That was months before the police showed up at her family’s mansion in Alpine, New Jersey, spurred on by the teenager posting a series of videos alleging that her mother Kellyanne, 54, was being abusive and that she also accidentally posted a photo of her topless.
Despite the drama, the Conways supported her daughter’s ambitions as a singer, with George Conway accompanying Claudia on her audition last year.
