Amanda Kloots reveals that she is ‘finally ready to go to therapy’ months after Nick Cordero’s death

Amanda Kloots shared a vulnerable post about trying to remain ‘positive and active’ while continuing to mourn the death of her husband, Nick Cordero, who died in July.

Despite her best efforts to deal with the significant loss alone, the 38-year-old co-host of The Talk at CBS opened up about her decision to seek professional help.

‘The New Year has been difficult, extremely difficult for me. I cried more recently than some time ago. I thought Christmas would be difficult, that was worse, ‘she revealed on her Instagram Story.

She continued: ‘I think it’s because when the new year comes you want a clean slate or forget about last year, esp 2020. But, I can’t forget last year and I won’t be able to clean that slate.’

Understandably, the single mother, who welcomed her and Cordero’s nearly two-year-old son Elvis in 2019, said she was “a little scared of what could happen in a year.”

After going through the entire process for the past six months, Kloots explained that all she endured was ‘finally reaching her’.

“I’m finally ready to go to therapy to deal with the trauma,” she said, after watching the late Broadway star struggle with complications related to COVID-19 for 94 days.

Kloots also reminded others that they are not alone in their pain and that being frank about their continued suffering has helped her to heal.

She added: “I share all of this as my continued honesty about grief and loss. As he comes and goes, it changes a lot. How he hides and then finds you. As it is a journey, not just a week. As it is a continuous struggle, even while I remain positive and active.

From then on, Nick’s battle went from one complication to the next, when he was put on a respirator and had blood clot problems, which eventually led to the amputation of his right leg.

It was too soon: during his hard battle, Nick managed to get out of his respirator and wake up from a coma, but the infection left his body and lungs so weak that he was never fully able to recover.
