California school board members resigned en masse after being caught mocking parents during a public video meeting about the reopening of schools closed during the pandemic.

All four members, including Oakley Elementary School District Council President Lisa Brizendine, resigned on Friday, according to a Fox News report.

Council members were filmed complaining about parents who wanted teachers to return to their classrooms. Brizendine seemed to scoff at parents who “want their babysitters back” during Wednesday’s meeting, which the curators deemed private.

“The comments made were not in line with our vision and are definitely not what any of us represent as leaders. I know that we have lost the trust of the community. I will not make excuses for what happened or why it happened, ”said School Superintendent Greg Hetrick in a statement.

Brisendine subsequently issued an apology. The other board members – Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito and Richie Masadas – resigned on Friday.
