Alex Trebek remembered on the anniversary of the revelation of cancer

Alex Trebek is being remembered two years after the episode “Jeopardy!” the legend revealed its diagnosis of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2019.

Nicky Trebek, Alex’s daughter with ex-wife Elaine Trebek Kares, wrote a touching reminder for Instagram on Saturday, with a photo of the two and the hashtag #missingyoueveryday.

“It was 2 years ago today, while we were working on the @jeopardy set, that my father boldly stepped out in front of the camera to announce that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer,” wrote Nicky. “He brought the much needed awareness for this terrible disease and gave hope to so many who were struggling.”

Trebek, 78 at the time, revealed his diagnosis on the “Jeopardy!” YouTube channel: “I wanted to be the one to pass on this information.”
