When it was announced that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were getting divorced, the world was shocked. The divorce is now final, but the two remain involved in a legal custody battle and, as such, some complicated story between the famous couple has been made public. Jolie accused Pitt of marital abuse and, in newly filed court documents, she – and her children – are willing to provide “evidence” for everything. Pitt, who already has a strained relationship with his son Maddox, is reportedly “heartbroken” by Jolie’s accusations and, more than anything, is concerned that this could cause a breakup between him and his other children.
“Brad is heartbroken that Angelina has followed this path. There was a lot of emotion left after their wedding, ”a source told Page Six. In the months following Jolie’s divorce filing, news emerged that there was a violent incident involving Pitt and his son Maddox while on a private plane in 2016.

The same source told the channel that Pitt “took responsibility for his actions and took over his past problems” and that he stopped drinking. They added: “The marriage was very passionate and toxic at times and – like all couples – they fought, but they also shared a lot of good times together.”
Although Pitt talked about his substance abuse problems, it should be noted that shortly after the incident with his son in 2016, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services conducted an investigation and released Pitt from charges of child abuse. Regarding Jolie’s allegations, the source shared that “Brad and his camp never attacked Angelina. But his camp feels that the leak was calculated to influence opinion before the trial ended. “
