A UI 3.1 update arrives on the Galaxy Tab S6 two months ahead of schedule

We didn’t expect Samsung to release the One UI 3.1 firmware update based on Android 11 for the Galaxy Tab S6 series before May, but that’s exactly what seems to be happening in Europe, or at least in Germany.

Samsung has started distributing the One UI 3.1 firmware update for the Galaxy Tab S6 series, although for now it may be limited to the Galaxy Tab S6 LTE (SM-T865). The update weighs about 2.2 GB, includes the March 2021 security patch, and Galaxy Tab S6 LTE owners in Germany can identify it by the firmware version T865XXU4CUB7.

Samsung ignored One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy Tab S6, so the latest One UI 3.1 firmware update is a big deal because it’s coming after One UI 2.5. The latest version features an updated user interface and several other features and improvements.

The Samsung keyboard has been enhanced with support for more languages, and the Galaxy Tab S6 can now take advantage of auto-switch functionality when using the tablet in conjunction with Galaxy Buds Pro.

Samsung may bring One UI 3.1 to Lite mode sooner

Galaxy Tab S6 LTE owners can try to trigger the latest firmware update from the settings application after accessing Software update and hitting Download and install. They can also consult our firmware file, where they can search for the latest updates and download them for manual installation using a PC.

As for the rest of the series, we suspect that the Galaxy Tab S6 only with Wi-Fi should not be far behind the LTE model. Likewise, given that Samsung released the One UI 3.1 update a few months ahead of the initial schedule, there is a chance that the company will treat the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite with a timely firmware update as well. Both Galaxy Tab S6 and Lite models were originally planned to receive the One UI 3.1 update in May.
