Smartphones, for many of us, are the most important tools we use on a daily basis, and it is definitely great to be able to buy one that perfectly suits our needs. That’s exactly why smartphone companies offer multiple variants of each smartphone – to make sure everyone has something to choose from. Going a step further is the Indian smartphone brand Lava, whose new smartphone can be custom according to your needs.

Called MyZ, the smartphone offers five customizable parameters: rear camera, front camera, RAM, storage and color. For example, you can choose between a three camera setup and a two camera setup, depending on the importance of the rear cameras for them. Likewise, you can also choose the amount of RAM (2GB / 3GB / 4GB / 6GB) and required storage (32GB / 64GB / 128GB).

This is not a modular phone, but customers also have the option to update their phone within a year if they find that its configuration is not suitable for them. For example, if 4 GB of RAM is a bottleneck for a user, he can upgrade to a new phone with 6 GB of RAM with Lava’s Z-Up service for a nominal fee.

In addition to the flexibility in choosing certain phone specifications, the MyZ is a very basic phone. It is powered by a MediaTek G35 SoC, sports a 6.5-inch HD + IPS LCD display and has a 5,000 mAh battery. The 2 GB variant runs on the Android 10 Go edition, while the higher RAM variants run on the standard Android 10.

The phone starts at a retail price of INR 6,999 (~ $ 95) and goes up to INR 10,699 (~ $ 146) for the sold-out variant.
