Jason Biggs reveals that he turned down the main role of ‘How I Met Your Mother’: ‘It’s my biggest regret’

Jason Biggs is opening up about the biggest regret of his career.

Appearing on SiriusXM’s “The Covino and Rich Show”, the 42-year-old American Pie star revealed why turning down Ted Mosby’s role in “How I Met Your Mother” was his biggest regret.

“The role was offered to me. Yes,” said the actor when asked about the show. “The role was offered to me and it is probably my biggest regret, you know, on passing. I think I was in a phase, at the time – it seems so unpleasant to say now – but at the time it was like, ‘Okay, do I want to do TV? ‘I don’t know if I was ready to go that way. “

Although Biggs said he was right for the role and rethought his decision later, he reflected that on the big picture, he did not regret it.

“Overview, I don’t regret it. Right? I’m very lucky, very lucky. I’m still here,” said Biggs. “This is number one. Great. But yes, if I had to choose something I would have liked to have done differently, I would have accepted that job for sure. For sure.”

American Pie actress Alyson Hannigan also played an important role in “How I Met Your Mother”. When asked if the former co-stars have spoken about his rejection, Biggs revealed that he does not know if Hannigan was aware that he did such a thing.

“We never talked about it. I don’t know if she knows. Yes, I don’t know if she does,” he said.
