Dustin Diamond completes first round of chemotherapy

“Saved by the Bell” star Dustin Diamond reportedly completed his first round of chemotherapy in his battle with stage 4 cancer.

The actor’s team told TMZ that he is battling stage 4 small cell carcinoma. The website reports that the cancer metastasized in Diamond’s lungs.

The 44-year-old television star will schedule a second round of chemotherapy soon and also plans to start physical therapy. Fortunately, his team told TMZ that he is very excited, staying positive while interacting with fans online and spending time with his girlfriend.

Diamond was hospitalized earlier this month due to widespread pain and discomfort, and shortly afterwards confirmed his battle with cancer via Facebook.

After his diagnosis, Diamond’s ex-stars in “Saved by the Bell”, Mario Lopez and Tiffani Thiessen, sent messages of support.

Page Six contacted Diamond’s representative for comment.
