911 systems disabled in Montgomery County, Fort Campbell, after explosion in Nashville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County 911 system and the non-emergency number are down because of the explosion this morning in Nashville, which caused AT&T to crash.

If an emergency response is needed, call 931-648-5702, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sandra Brandon.

Fort Campbell’s 911 lines are also inactive. The primary number to be used at Fort Campbell for an emergency is 270-798-7111. Alternative numbers are 270-798-7112, 270-798-7113 and 270-798-7114.

“Access to these lines is intermittent. Keep trying to call if there is an emergency, ”tweeted Fort Campbell.

Police phones at Austin Peay State University are not working. If you need to contact the APSU Police, call 931-494-6672.

Interruption in the region

AT&T is experiencing service disruptions in Middle Tennessee and Kentucky. Service disruptions include TV, telephone and Internet customers, according to Clarksville Now news partner WKRN, Channel 2.

The outage comes after an explosion in downtown Nashville earlier in the day, which damaged AT&T’s facilities. They are in contact with law enforcement authorities and working to restore service.
