Yes, the new Chevy Bolt EUV looks a lot like the slightly smaller Bolt EV, although they do not share external panels.

General Motors plans to launch 30 new electric vehicles globally by 2025. Beyond fantasy Cadillacs and robust Hummers, this accelerated attack (literally) includes the new 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV, or electric utility vehicle. On Sunday, the automaker officially unveiled this battery-powered crossover alongside the updated 2022 Bolt EV.
Bolt EUV and Bolt EV are built on the same architecture and are extremely similar, however, no sheet of metal is shared between the two. The EUV is about 6 inches longer than its hatchback brother, who Chevrolet billed as a crossover when introduced, although no one really believed (figuratively and literally). Hopefully, the Bolt EUV will have more success in the showroom, its slightly more muscular body and exclusive front with standard LED headlights helping to attract new buyers.
Given its Bolt bones, the new EUV does not have the most attractive proportions, looking a little narrow and even heavier because of its additional height. The face of the vehicle has some interesting components, but overall, it’s still a pretty generic package, which can be a problem. The 2022 Bolt EUV competes with vehicles like the BMW i3 and Hyundai Kona Electric, although drivers can also cross it with the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E, even though these offers are a little more sophisticated – and more expensive – than this Chevy.
The interior of this EV is dramatically better than what you get in the original Bolt, with nicer materials and improved seats.

The exterior of the Bolt EUV and Bolt EV can be quite boring, but their shared cabin has been dramatically improved. This new interior is much better than what you get in the current Bolt, with a comprehensive panel layout and attractive materials. Both screws feature new front seats, which should be more comfortable than before. Putting your longer body to good use, the EUV’s rear seat provides almost 3 additional inches of legroom. With all that space and an almost flat floor, adult passengers should have no trouble accommodating themselves in this vehicle.
Keeping up with industry trends, a 10.2-inch infotainment screen is standard, complete with integrated climate controls. An 8-inch digital instrument cluster is also included at no extra charge. As expected, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported and a wireless charging pad is standard on the Bolt EUV. A new shift lever mounted on the console takes up less interior space and brings to mind the gear selector design that Honda uses. A flat-bottomed steering wheel is standard equipment for a sportier look, although it also comes with a regeneration paddle on demand. The EUV also features a one-way steering button, which provides maximum regenerative braking for greater efficiency. Just take your foot off the accelerator and the vehicle will aggressively decelerate, returning the kinetic energy to the battery.
In addition to these screens, there are many other technologies in this Chevy. Automatic tall headlights, lane keeping assistance and front braking for pedestrians are standard items, although you can opt for features like rear cross-traffic alert, a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control. Taking that last item a step further, Super Cruise, Assistance for driving with GM’s handsfree will be available at Bolt EUV. This is the first time that brilliant technology has been offered in a Chevy. Thanks to state-of-the-art sensors and advanced map data, Super Cruise operates on more than 320,000 kilometers of highways in the United States and Canada.
This single engine unit provides 200 horsepower and 266 foot-pounds of torque.

Keeping things simple, only one propulsion system is offered on the 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV, a single engine unit that delivers 200 horsepower and a sturdy 266 pound-feet of torque, exactly the same as you get on the Bolt EV. Unfortunately, four-wheel drive is not on the menu. A 65 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery serves as an electron reservoir, allowing the EUV to drive 250 miles between charges, slightly less than the Bolt EV, which can go up to 259 miles. Unfortunately, this arrangement is an older project, which means it’s not part of GM’s new fantasy Ultium battery system.
Speaking of electricity, the EUV comes standard with a new dual-level charging cable. It allows you to connect the vehicle to a 120 volt home outlet or 240 volt plug up to 7.2 kW. Both screws support level 2 loading of up to 11 kW and can absorb about 160 kilometers of range in 30 minutes when connected to a fast DC charger. Extract from a 120 volt plug and you better have some free time; this only yields about 4 miles of driving range per hour.
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV is important news, but the price of this vehicle may be the most significant part of this story. Before any potential discounts or tax credits, it costs any less than the 2021 Bolt EV, starting at around $ 34,000, including destination fees. This means that it should significantly reduce the Kona Electric and the i3, offering much more power, torque and range than the latter. GM may have realized this when introducing the original Bolt EV, but updates to this model for 2022 and the addition of the new EUV variant should go a long way in correcting this error. Look for two screws at dealerships in all 50 states starting this summer.
