Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guidance provided by CDC

As if 2020 weren’t enough of a battle, a zombie apocalypse could be coming in 2021 – but don’t worry, because a particular place covers it.

That crazy 15th century prophet, Nostradamus, apparently has one of his hairy predictions for validation soon, with the prophet of relentlessly miserable doom saying that day that we would definitely be in a zombie apocalypse in 2021. Don’t worry, he is usually wrong .

But what if he was right?

Well, in the USA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been offering advice on how we can survive this – which is good to know, because even if we don’t have a zombie apocalypse this year, the emergence of programs like Living Dead led people to be somewhat curious about how they would deal with such a situation.

The CDC decided to create a zombie preparation page, where people can look for answers – just in case the undead really start walking among us.

“It turns out that what started out as an ironic campaign to engage new audiences with prep messages has proven to be a very effective platform,” says the guide.

“We continue to reach and engage a wide variety of audiences in preparing for all hazards through ‘zombie preparation’.”

The page was actually made in 2011, but the resurgence of Nostradamus’ prophecy caused people to turn to the site recently for guarantees.

Guidance isn’t just about dealing with zombies, it covers a variety of natural disasters – you know, like a pandemic or something.

“Bottled water, flour, disinfectant spray, toilet paper … A year ago, it didn’t matter how much money you had. You couldn’t get your hands on certain things,” John Sellick, professor at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University Buffalo, told Yahoo Life while reflecting on the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Having a stock at home could have helped carry some of us. Clearly, most of us did not have adequate supplies of things.”

So, what do you need to survive the zombie apocalypse?

The CDC recommends gathering an emergency kit, including water – one gallon per person – non-perishable food, prescription and non-prescription drugs, tools and supplies.

It also suggests that you should make sure that you have hygiene and sanitation supplies, a change of clothes, bedding and first aid – in addition to any important documentation, such as passports or driver’s licenses.

Finally, the CDC recommends developing an emergency plan with your family so that you know what to do if a disaster occurs.

This includes naming a location where all of you should be meeting, as well as a list of emergency contacts and an evacuation route.

In the meantime, let us hope that Nostradamus is wrong again.
