Malcolm and Marie is scheduled to hit Netflix on February and, in a recent interview, Zendaya talked about the age difference with his co-star John David Washington, saying, “I’m grown up”.
Fresh from his historic Emmy win for the role of Rue in Euphoria, Zendaya is promoting his new Netflix movie, Malcolm and Marie, which also stars John David Washington. During the promotion of the film, Zendaya recently spoke about the age difference between the two stars, which has received some media attention recently.

Zendaya, who is 24, said PEOPLE, “People often forget – which is understandable because I’ve been playing 16 since I was 16, you know – [but] I’m grown up … I knew that as I grew and evolved, that moment would come when I could play someone my age. ”
Zendaya, of course, was in the Disney channel for years on Shake it and KC Undercover. She also currently stars as MJ in current Marvel Spider man series, where she also plays a high school student.
Washington, 36, also spoke about the age difference between them. He recently said Variety that he was not worried about it, saying: “People will see in this film how much she is She has a lot more experience than me in the industry. I’ve only been in this for seven years. She’s been in this for a long time, so I’m learning from her. I’m the newbie. “

Malcolm and Marie debuts in a limited version on January 29 and digitally on Netflix on February 5th.
The official synopsis of the film says: “When a filmmaker and his girlfriend return home from the premiere of their film, the latent tensions and painful revelations lead to a romantic reckoning.”
