Zelda: Mod Breath Of The Wild enhances Link’s home to make it “a worthwhile purchase”

Zelda fan and modder Waikuteru is back with another mod for the popular Switch title Breath of the Wild.

Following the restoration of the unused Sanctuary ‘Dungeon136’, they have now decided to “re-imagine” what it is like to own a home in the game. If you’ve played Breath of the Wild, you know you need to save some supplies and rupees for Link’s home. This mod apparently goes further – by making it “a worthwhile purchase”.

“Outside the village of Hateno, there is a cozy little house that you can buy and become an owner! In the basic game, the house is of little use besides being a place to store some equipment (and complete a mission).”

“This mod restarts ownership of a home on BOTW to make it a worthwhile purchase – something you will want to use regularly – all the time, while maintaining the original game feel and game balance.”

To achieve this, Waikuteru enhanced the home experience with a quick trip point, a hot fire to prepare meals, a bed – which now allows Link to “sleep a lot” to recover three bonus hearts, and there are even paintings featuring the concept art from developers.

To top it off, there is “extra lighting and tasteful decorations” and Link gets his own pet (a chicken). There is also the ability to fish in the nearby lake for Hylian sea bass and store your faithful steed in a stable.
