Zack Snyder’s Justice League accidentally reveals that Superman is Clark Kent

Zack Snyder’s Justice League made many improvements to Superman, but also accidentally erased his secret identity.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Justice League by Zack Snyder, now broadcast on HBO Max.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League promised to do the right thing for Superman after the Joss Whedon mustache fiasco, triggering the fan service that started with the black suit. After all, Snyder has always been vocal about his desire to tell the full arc of the Kryptonian, since his birth in Steel man until death in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice for his final rebirth in this film. The new cut is an improvement over the theatrical release, however, the Snyder cut makes a fatal mistake by accidentally revealing Superman’s secret identity to the world.

It occurs when Kal-El is brought back to life using the Kryptonian spacecraft shot down in the STAR labs and the parent box. He returns without his senses, not recognizing an enemy’s friend, which leads him to fight against the League. After dispatching Cyborg, Aquaman, Flash and Wonder Woman, he trains his heat vision on Batman. Fortunately, the Dark Knight grabs the explosion with his energy-absorbing gauntlets Alfred made, but when he is thrown into the police vehicle dozens of meters behind him, Bruce calls him “Clark”.

While Bruce encourages Clark to be a hero again, there is a policeman and a soldier beside him, who were present as part of the battalion sent to repress the dangers of a potentially evil Man of Steel. They are well within earshot when Bruce makes his call. While Bruce is understandably trying to appeal to Superman’s humanity, Caped’s Crusader should really know better. If that weren’t enough, Lois then runs past the police duo, shouting Clark’s name again a few times. She did it in the theatrical cut too, but it’s weird to think that no one noticed and corrected that mistake the second time.

It is easy to discover that Clark is Superman for some reasons, even for people outside of these police figures. First of all, Lois is dating Clark, so anyone on the Daily Planet or Smallville must find it strange that he dies and returns at the same time as Superman. It is also unrealistic to assume that people will not ask questions about Clark’s grave being dug up and him coming back to life.

Unless Bruce generously pays the pair, Kal-El can only hope that they are men of honor who can keep a secret. It is certain that this is not the first time that this type of error has happened. At the end of Steel man, Superman told General Swanwick that he was not a threat to national security; he was just someone who grew up in Kansas. So it looks like there are some people who could track down and find out the truth about Krypton’s Last Child.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent , Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film is currently available on HBO Max.
