Netflix’s next big budget action movie is almost here: Army of the Dead Director Zack Snyder sees a squad of mercenaries struggling to get to Las Vegas to deliver a massive blow. The problem is that after a zombie apocalypse devastated the city, so instead of the usual Las Vegas casino and mafia boss score of your life.
The first trailer for Army of the Dead doesn’t show off much, but we know that Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) will be leading the show. Snyder, of course, knows the great action films and zombie films in particular, having directed the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead (as well as its long list of blockbuster superhero hits like Steel man, watchmakers, and Justice League)

Army of the Dead, however, is a particularly notable film for Snyder, given that it is only the second completely original story for the director – and the first in more than a decade since 2011 Great goal It was released.
Netflix is also betting heavily on Army of the Dead starting a new franchise for the streaming site: in addition to Snyder’s main film, the company is also producing Army of the Dead: the Prequel, a German-American co-production directed and starring Matthias Schweighöfer (who will also be part of Snyder’s film). There’s also an anime-style TV series planned, Army of the Dead: Las Vegas Lost, which will see several of the main movie characters reprise their roles.
Army of the Dead will premiere on Netflix on May 21st.
